Shimla, March 2
The Centre has sanctioned Rs 34.10 crore for the construction of housing colonies and a community centre in Krishna Nagar under the Rajiv Awas Yojna.
Disclosing this here yesterday, Housing and Urban Development Minister Sudhir Sharma said 300 houses and a community centre with modern facilities like dispensary, old-age care, library, community hall and solar lighting and heating system would be constructed.
He added that of these houses, 224 would be for needy persons while 76 would be rented out. “Strict action will be taken against builders who have started construction without seeking the essentiality certificate and requisite permission,” he said.
